Some times music is just supposed to be fun. Since they started a year ago, as a fully improvisational band with a loose approach to membership, The Mind on Fire Band has always put a major emphasis on making music that’s good to party to. During this time, the band has evolved into eight core members and the jams have turned into more structured songs. Rhythm section propelled grooves jump genre left, right and centre; distilling music back to what it was created for in the first place- making people shut up and dance!
SUNDAY 12th SEPTEMBER: RENEGADE BRASS BAND
Combining 8 horns with 2 percussionists, scratch Dj and live MC, the Renegade Brass Band are a tight ensemble playing with a raw brass sound, mixing the best of unk, hip-hop and soul into the ultimate party band. Playing a mix of original material, and covers of songs by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Cannonball Adderley, the Renegade Brass Band have already established a big live reputation n Sheffield and Yorkshire.
SUNDAY 26th SEPTEMBER: EAST PARK REGGAE COLLECTIVE
The mighty East Park Reggae Collective formed in Leeds in 2005. The band was brought together by long time collaborators Johnny Tomlinson and Tommy Evans,a nd quickly gained a serious repuation as an epic party band! Fronted by the uncompromising vocals of Anna Stott, the band also boasts a heavyweight 4-piece horn section, and a locked in rhythm section. With a new album in the making, the band is on a mission. They move audiences with their rough breed of dub, reggae and ska, performing infectious original material.
